The Main Salon

As you enter Room 2 Play through the aft companionway, five steps take you to the main salon. Here, in this bright, cheery. light-filled space, you’ll find natural teak woodwork and comfortable furnishings. Because of the large windows and low belt-line, you can sit in the salon and still enjoy wonderful views through the salon windows. The sofa includes a large hidden storage area; the central automan opens to provide a large hidden storage space.

The lounge chair offers yet more storage in a hidden drawer in its base. The entertainment center includes a TV w/remote control, videotape player, AM/FM stereo, w/4 pairs of independently controlled speakers, and a 10-disc CD changer with remote control. Speakers are located in the aft stateroom, the main salon, the aft deck, and the flybridge.

Access to the engine room, generator, and batteries is provided through 5 sound-proofed access hatches in the floor.

The Dinette

The dinette, located in the galley on the port side, seats 4 comfortably. It can also be turned into a bunk for sleeping. Storage space is found in the seat bases.

Notable too, is the availability of AC outlets, which are found throughout the boat. Whether you are plugged in at shore (2 30-amp circuits,) running off the 8 kW generator or using the 2000 watt inverter, lights and power are available everywhere.

Overhead are built in lights in several zones; at floor level, all steps are illuminated with downlights that make moving around after dark much safer.

An additional floor hatch on the dinette level provides good storage for bulky, heavy items, like tools, food stores and cleaning supplies.

Sunlit Windows

We have very large front windows which offers a beautiful view of the front deck. For privacy or shade, simply add the front window canvas cover. Note that many of the boat’s windows can be opened and have screens. This attractive feature, which allows great flow-through ventilation, has been eliminated on later models!

The Galley

All the right appliances, all conveniently at hand, including a large full size refrigerator/freezer, oven, three-burner range, double sink, built-in microwave oven, coffee maker and LOTS of cabinets, for dishes, pots, pans and food.

Note the parquet wood floor. There is an additional hatch in the floor to access the bilge.

The galley is spacious enough for two to cook side by side, and is convenient to the dinette and salon, making conversation and entertaining easy and fun!

Aft Deck

One of the most enjoyable spots on “Room 2 Play” is the aft deck, above the master stateroom. Completely enclosed with removable curtains and screens, it’s a wonderful place for relaxing and seeing the sights.

A large line locker is also on this deck, as is a wet bar and automatic ice maker.

Access to the forward deck is available on both port and starboard sides. A staircase leads up from this level to the bridge, a ladder leads down to the swim platform.

The Flybridge

Up from the aft deck is the command center – helm chair, w/additional seating beside it, all operating controls and instrumentation, and another space that can be completely enclosed w/screens and curtains, or opened to the sun.

There is bench forward of the command console. A large storage space is under the seat, and more storage is found under the forward cowling.

Hard Top

Although the Carver manual says that you should not use the hard top, we have proven over and over that it is a great place to relax in the sun.

Just don’t blame me if anything happens while you are up there minding your own business.

The Forward Deck

Three generous sun pads are found on the forward deck, along with stainless steel rails, wide walkways, a bow pulpit, remote control windless and anchor.

In this picture, you can also see how the canvas top encloses the flybridge with roll up windows and screens.
